Merseyside Nighthawks

Since I was about 7 years old, I have been a big American football fan, especially because my Dad introduced me to the sport and I connected straight away. Since that time, my team has become the Green Bay Packers, with their green and yellow (gold) jerseys, part of the fan gear is a cheesehead and the fact that they were the very first team I remember watching, they just caught my eye I am still a huge fan of my beloved Packers.

I am so pleased that American football has grown in popularity over this side of the pond, with the recent Wembley games and more and more leagues and teams forming over here. My local British American football team is a team called the Merseyside Nighthawks, which until last week, I had went to watch once and it unfortunately turned out to be a dire game, ending in a 0-0 scoreline. Fortunately, last weekend it was much different! The Nighthawks defeated the Chester Romans by an awesome score of 47-13! A good butt kicking to say the least! It was a joy watching them not only because they played so well, but also I watched them with the company of my Dad and we even met some other American football fans. The Nighthawks are now 4-0 and are hoping to get promoted into the top league in Britain. I will be rooting for them this season and it was great to see American football in Liverpool!

Let's Go Nighthawks!

(By the way, the Nighthawks are the team in black and red)
